Nathan's Wedding
Nathan and Vanessa had a spectacular July wedding in beautiful San Francisco, California, our most favorite city in the world.  As some know, Nathan proposed marriage to Vanessa on the dance floor, stroke of midnight two years ago, New Year’s Eve, while at ‘The Top of the Mark’ overlooking San Francisco from the Mark Hopkins Hotel.  Many do not know that the bar “Top of the Mark’ was Nathan’s grandparents, Ann & Joe Rawls, most favorite site for its fabulous view and WWII nostalgia (brides and girlfriends would sit at the bar and watch their men sail out to sea/war from the vantage point).

As previously mentioned, the wedding and the surrounding events were awesome and well organized.  There was good interaction between the families and plenty of things and places to visit while in San Francisco and close-by wine country.
The Saturday afternoon wedding was held at St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s Cathedral, North Beach, S.F.  The cathedral was gorgeous and Vanessa was a beautiful bride in her elegant, simple bridal gown that made everyone’s mouth drop open.  Nathan was quite handsome with his pink matching tie.  It was a very special occasion to see two best friends for many years getting married and the happiness and respect displayed was extraordinary.  We were so fortunate and blessed that so many close friends and family traveled to California to witness and participate in the event.
The wedding reception was equally amazing held dockside with the Bay Bridge as background.  The weather god’s were with us as the day was almost cloudless and 70°F.  There were several toasts and laughs during the brief speeches during a terrific meal.  Although the band was quite entertaining, the highlight was the ability to walk on the deck outside and take in the beauty of the majestic San Francisco Bay.
The day after, Sunday, while Nathan and Vanessa took more wedding photos, we organized a picnic on the beach below the Golden Gate Bridge.  It was a relaxing way for most of the wedding party to conclude their trip to California with some wine, sandwiches (thank you Robert & Tina!) and lawn games (thanks Amanda!).  Since it was mid July, all of us found it hard to believe that we were putting on extra sweaters and jackets during the afternoon shoreline activities.  What a great time!
It was a privilege to get to know the Recio family and to spend time in S.F. with friends and family.

We wish Los Novios, Vanessa and Nathan, all the best as they make their journey through life!
